Those Baby People…

Lucy Webber IBCLC

I’m Lucy, a registered midwife (qualified in 2002) and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2012. I’m passionate about providing kind, evidence based support to families, whatever their feeding journey looks like. I enjoy working across all areas of infant feeding, from pregnancy preparation to supporting children as they grow up to school age.

You may know me from social media, where I share practical guidance and aim to cut through the noise of misinformation surrounding infant feeding.

My book, Breastfeeding and the Fourth Trimester, was published in August 2023, and personalised copies are available through That Baby Place.

I also love speaking and educating, whether that’s on podcasts, at study days, or at conferences, helping parents and professionals navigate the complex world of feeding with confidence.

As a parent to children who are Autistic and have ADHD, I have particular experience supporting families where neurodivergence plays a role, ensuring guidance is inclusive and tailored to individual needs.

Above all, my approach combines professional knowledge and experience, with empathy and practicality, helping families feel empowered, confident, and supported at every stage of their feeding journey.

Hi, I’m Josie. I became a registered midwife in 2004  and worked all over the place, delivery suite, the antenatal/postnatal wards, the transitional care ward and in the community. I absolutely loved being a midwife, but I couldn’t make the random shifts work with my little family. So, in 2013, I did a further year of training to become a Health Visitor.

In 2016, I met Lucy Webber, she was looking for maternity cover for her specialist breastfeeding service, so that’s where this began and we have been chatting about feeding babies for 10 years now!

In 2020 I passed my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) exams, and started my practice, The infant feeding service.

My passion is finding ‘The happy place’ with feeding.  This can look very different from one home to the next, we’re not all the same and neither are our babies, so the best support happens when you are truly heard and understood.

Feeding our babies is so much more than food, and that emotional side of things can be unexpected and intense.  I take care to use up to date research and resources to support and empower you, building on your expertise as parents, so you can feel safe and confident about feeding.

I’m a mum to 2 boys, so I get that being a new parent can be both the most gruelling and wonderful thing at the same time. Finding the right support is really powerful, so I want to help you find yours too.
